Our take

By Matt Spaulding, Founder and writer

Bringing a dog to the Courtyard costs $150 a stay, non-refundable, with one pet to a room, the highest pet fee among the hotels here that publish one, matched only by the $150 on the Capitol Hill Hotel's pet page. Marriott's November 17 screen had no destination fee line to add to the room and its 15.95% DC tax. You can check in at 4 PM and stay until noon, an hour past checkout at citizenM or the Morrow. Beyond helpful staff and clean rooms, we found little written about the place. The hotel is at 1325 2nd St NE, 19 minutes on foot from Union Station by the street route, and only the Capitol Hill Hotel, at 21, is farther out. Valet is $55 a day, the same as at the Hilton Garden Inn, and the hotel does not say whether tax goes on top. A dog and two nights of valet add $260 before any tax on the valet.
