Our take
By Matt Spaulding, Founder and writer
At $30 a night, Metro Center's Destination Fee is the smallest of Penn Quarter's four Marriott hotels: $5 under the Marquis and the JW, $10 under the Westin, and level with the Grand Hyatt's. Marriott's 17 November price for a night here already has the $30 in it. The screen does not say what the fee pays for. On 29 October, Marriott was selling rooms here for Tuesday the 17th, a night the Monaco and the Hampton Inn had none. From 775 12th St NW, Capital One Arena is 817 meters away, an 11-minute walk. Pets are not allowed. Valet is $75 a day on Marriott's info page, the Marquis's rate too and a dollar under the JW's. Check-in is at 4 PM and checkout at noon. Guests often find the rooms clean and a decent size, though some run tired, with weak air conditioning and low shower pressure. A group on a bike trip said the hotel handled riders and bikes well.
