Our take
By Matt Spaulding, Founder and writer
Turtle Creek puts the Mansion at the far end of this area, 27 minutes on foot from the American Airlines Center, so you will drive or ride to the arena. Service and the Mansion restaurant draw the praise, and the Mansion Bar has live music on Friday and Saturday nights, with a $15 cover per person from 8:30. Many guests say the prices run high for what they got, and some report noise. The hotel's own policy page states "A nightly destination fee of $50 (excluding tax)" and "a nightly Texas State Recovery Fee of $5.25 (excluding tax)", and its services page lists overnight valet at $80. Three nights with a car come to $405.75 before tax by those pages, and $240 of it is valet. The destination fee covers lobby coffee and tea, an afternoon snack, the heated pool, the fitness center and weekly wellness experiences. The booking screen folds the fees into the nightly price without listing them. The policy page puts room tax at 17%, including a 2% Dallas Tourism Public Improvement Reimbursement Fee, and the Suite Sojourn offer includes valet.
