The Sirata is the beach's hotel in transition, and the transition is the whole story. Owner Columbia Sussex, which bought it in 2022, finished a $25 million renovation covering all 228 rooms and suites, the lobby, the restaurants and bars, the fitness center and the pool deck, and the property joined Tapestry Collection by Hilton in June 2026. The renovated rooms are genuinely nice, clean coastal design and good bathrooms, and the beach itself is wide and well-run. Here is what to weigh. The owner has city approval to add a JW Marriott and a Hampton Inn on the site, but as of August 2026 no permits have been filed and no groundbreaking has been announced. After Hurricane Milton it reopened with most things running. The 2026 renovation reopened the restaurants Rum Runners and Blue and expanded the fitness center to 753 square feet. And the fees stack: a $40-a-night resort fee, $25 parking, and beach loungers and umbrellas charged separately even though you already paid the resort fee. How to play it: go in knowing you are trading fee creep for a nearly-new beachfront resort. It suits deal-hunters and anyone who wants a renovated room.
