The Sirata is the beach's hotel in transition, and the transition is the whole story. A new owner, Columbia Sussex, bought it in 2022 and poured $25 million into a first-phase renovation of the rooms, suites, and lobby, with the property set to become a Tapestry Collection by Hilton once phase two wraps. The renovated rooms are genuinely nice, clean coastal design and good bathrooms, and the beach itself is wide and well-run. Here is what to weigh. The place is one big construction zone in slow motion: on top of the hotel refresh, the owner is redeveloping the site to add a JW Marriott and a Hampton Inn, so expect cranes, fencing, and a new pool and bar going in. After Hurricane Milton it reopened with most things running, though a restaurant and the fitness center have been slower to come back. And the fees stack: a $40-a-night resort fee, $25 parking, and $20 per beach chair even though you already paid the resort fee, which is the single most common gripe in recent reviews. How to play it: book a renovated room, and go in knowing you are trading some construction noise and fee creep for a nearly-new beachfront resort at a pre-Hilton-flag price. It suits deal-hunters and anyone who wants that renovated room while the rate is still discounted for the chaos. Is the Sirata worth booking during the renovation?
It can be, if you book a renovated room and you are fine with an active construction site. The Phase I rooms are genuinely nice, and the rate is still discounted for the disruption. Light sleepers and anyone needing quiet mornings should look elsewhere on the beach for now.
Is the Sirata a Hilton hotel yet?
