The budget podium

The budget map shifted after the 2024 storms, so here's the current version. The Beachcomber is the value play on the sand: freshly reopened after a full restoration, sitting on the same beach as resorts charging more, with two chairs and an umbrella set up for you daily (a perk the big places charge $20 to $40 for). It does carry a resort fee, but that fee is what covers the chairs, so read it as part of the package. Beach Haven Resort, the old budget floor, has been reborn as a boutique cottage resort: eighteen restored 1949 cottages, heavy on charm and priced for it, so it now belongs on the splurge-night list.

Time it like a local

Sunday through Wednesday nights are the soft underbelly of beach pricing, and September is the cheapest month of the year. Same-day booking works in your favor here, because unsold beach rooms drop hardest the afternoon of. The renovation discount
