The Beachcomber is changing hands. Hilton lists it as The Beachcomber St. Pete Beach, Outset Collection by Hilton, and takes reservations for December 21, 2026 and later, so a stay before then is booked with the hotel as it runs today and a stay after it is a Hilton one. Either way you get 102 rooms over two floors at the north end of the beach, outdoor pools, and Jimmy B's, the beach bar with live music every day. That bar keeps the place social and loud into the evening, which plenty of guests come for. If you want quiet, ask for a room away from it, or book somewhere smaller. The value has always been the beach setup. Today the resort fee pays for two chairs and an umbrella on the sand every day, which the bigger resorts down Gulf Boulevard sell separately. Hilton's pages don't say whether that survives the switch. They do say self-parking will be free and that dogs and cats will be welcome, at $75 for one to four nights and $125 for five or more, two pets at most. Check which side of December 21 your dates fall on before you compare it with anything else.

Are beach chairs really included at the Beachcomber?
Yes, two loungers and an umbrella per room, set up on the sand each day. The big resorts nearby charge $20 to $40 a day for the same setup, so it takes a real bite out of the price gap, and it is covered by the resort fee you are already paying. Hilton's pages for the rebranded hotel don't say whether that continues after December 21, 2026.
Is the Beachcomber becoming a Hilton?
Yes. Hilton lists it as The Beachcomber St. Pete Beach, Outset Collection by Hilton, and takes reservations for December 21, 2026 and later. Earlier dates are booked with the hotel as it runs now, so the fees and policies can differ depending on which side of that date you stay.
Is the Beachcomber noisy?
It can be. Jimmy B's, the on-site beach bar, runs daily live music, which is a highlight for a lot of guests and a bit much for anyone wanting quiet. Ask for a room away from the bar if calm is the priority.
Can you bring a dog to the Beachcomber?
Not before December 21, 2026. From then, Hilton's policy allows dogs and cats up to 75 pounds, two per room, for a non-refundable $75 on stays of one to four nights or $125 for five nights or more. Before that date, the Don CeSar and both TradeWinds resorts down Gulf Boulevard take dogs for a fee.
Is the Beachcomber worth it?
For a beach-first trip, yes. It sits on the same sand as resorts charging more, and under the current resort fee your two chairs and umbrella are set up for you daily. It is also a social place where Jimmy B's runs live music every day. From December 21 it runs as a Hilton, and nobody has said yet whether the chairs stay in the fee, so check the rate details for your dates. If polish and quiet matter more to you, that money goes further at a smaller property on this beach.
