Clevelander is a nightlife venue that rents rooms upstairs, and the operator says so plainly: its own property page calls the place anything but a quiet retreat, and the FAQ steers light sleepers to sister property Essex House instead. Guest feedback splits along exactly that seam. People who come for the atmosphere and the nightlife rave about it; people who come to sleep do not. Sleep is the single most common complaint about the property, by a wide margin, and bathrooms and air conditioning draw steady gripes too. Opinion is polarized rather than middling: guests tend to land at the extremes, either thrilled or furious, with little in between. The Beach Club hours explain it. The DJ stage on the pool patio sits in the center of the property and runs to 2 a.m. Sunday through Wednesday, 4 a.m. Thursday, and 5 a.m. Friday and Saturday. Then the fee math. Valet is $49 a night plus tax with no self-park option, so three nights adds roughly $147 before tax. A resort fee exists, since the FAQ says Wi-Fi comes as part of it, but Clevelander never states the amount anywhere: its own booking engine buries it inside one taxes-and-fees line. Budget a $100-per-night incidental hold on top, released 7 to 10 business days after you leave. Right for a 21-and-over group planning to be downstairs until closing. Wrong if you need to sleep.

1020 Ocean Drive, mid-block on the Art Deco strip and directly across from Lummus Park, so the sand is about a two-minute walk. The Wolfsonian-FIU is three minutes on foot and Lincoln Road sits roughly 0.8 miles north. Washington Avenue bus stops are four to five minutes away, which matters more here than usual: valet runs $49 a night and the public garages the hotel points to on 7th Street, 10th Street and 13th at Collins set their own hourly and overnight rates. This is also the noisiest stretch of Ocean Drive, and Clevelander is one of the reasons it is.

No. Clevelander is 21 and over, guests included. You will need a valid government-issued ID at check-in and again to get back into the property at night, on weekends and during special events.

What time is check-in, and can I get in early?

4 p.m. check-in, 11 a.m. check-out, and early check-in costs a flat $25 if a room is clean and available. Watch the other end too: checking out before your scheduled departure date can trigger an early-departure fee of up to one night's room and tax, so shorten the booking rather than just leaving.

Is Clevelander South Beach worth it?

Yes if you intend to be downstairs. Location, atmosphere and nightlife are the strongest themes in its reviews, and hotel guests get the Beach Club and pool events with no cover charge. Less so if you need the room itself to perform.
