Everglades Alligator Farm is in Homestead rather than Miami, close to the road running into Everglades National Park's main entrance, which makes it an easy add-on to a park day. Set your expectations on the airboat first. It runs 20 to 25 minutes, split into about ten minutes slow and ten minutes fast, and it stays on the farm's own property, which is why there are no national park entry fees attached and also why you are not seeing the park's interior. The farm is candid that there are no dry seats, so you will get damp and should leave valuables at the dock. The draw here is the farm itself, home to more than 2,000 alligators, plus shows you can genuinely schedule around: feeding at 10, 12, 2 and 4, handling at 11, 1, 3 and 5 (times as of August 2026, and the farm notes they can change). Line your arrival up to catch one of each and about two hours works well. Turn up at random and you can lose 40 minutes standing around waiting for the next one. The hands-on extras, holding a three foot alligator or meeting the capybaras, cost more on top of general admission, which catches out visitors who assumed the ticket covered everything.

Is Everglades Alligator Farm in Miami or Homestead?
Homestead. The address is 40351 SW 192nd Ave, Homestead, FL 33034, south of Miami. It is often marketed as a Miami attraction because of the day trips that run out to it, but the postal city is Homestead and you will want a car.
How long is the airboat ride, and does it go into Everglades National Park?
The ride is 20 to 25 minutes, described by the farm as about ten minutes of slow riding and ten minutes of fast riding. It operates on the farm's own private property rather than inside Everglades National Park, which is why the farm advertises no national park entry fees. If seeing the national park interior is the goal, this is not the ride for it.
What time are the alligator shows?
As of August 2026 the alligator feeding show runs at 10am, 12pm, 2pm and 4pm, and the alligator handling show runs at 11am, 1pm, 3pm and 5pm. Both are included with an airboat ride plus general admission ticket. The farm notes showtimes can change, so confirm on arrival.
What is included with admission and what costs extra?
General admission with the airboat covers the boat ride, the alligator feeding show, the alligator handling show and access to the farm. The Alligator Encounter (where you get a chance to hold a three-foot alligator and feed over 250 animals), the Capybara Encounter, the VIP experience and private airboat tours are all separate purchases on top of that.
Will you get wet on the airboat?
Expect to. The farm states plainly that there are no dry seats on the boat and advises securing valuables or leaving them at the airboat dock. Headsets are provided free because the boats are loud, and the farm warns that the noise upsets some small children even though all ages are welcome aboard.
What is the best time of day to arrive?
Arrive before 10am or before noon so your first show is a feeding, then stay for the handling show an hour later. Working backwards from the 5:30pm close, an early afternoon arrival still lets you catch the 2pm feeding and the 3pm handling show plus the airboat. Arriving after 4pm leaves you time for very little.
