Our take
By Matt Spaulding, Founder and writer
The Langham Huntington is a 1914 resort in Pasadena, and it works best if you barely leave it. Two outdoor pools, Chuan Spa, a tennis court and The Royce steakhouse are all on the grounds, with afternoon tea on top. The hotel publishes no walking time to Old Pasadena or the Rose Bowl. What it offers instead is a Lucid electric house car for trips within 3 miles, 9am to 9pm, first come first served, and it tells you to allow 30 minutes for the pickup back. LAX is 26 miles away. Use this as a base for seeing Los Angeles and a lot of the trip happens in the car. Two slow nights by the heated Lanai Pool, open until 10pm, is the stay it's built for. You won't have the pools to yourself, because day-pass visitors get in too and the Royce Pool's four cabanas are booked through Resort Pass. The most recent date on the hotel's history page is 2020, when the Picture Bridge was restored. Every night carries a $70 Guest Amenity Fee plus tax, and the house car is one of the things it covers. Valet is the only parking, at $50 overnight, and the street is off limits, so with a car the fee and valet come to $120 a night before tax and before the room. That's $240 for a weekend. The Langham Getaway package includes parking. Price it first.

Does The Langham Huntington charge a resort fee?
Yes. It's called a Guest Amenity Fee, and it's $70 per room per night plus tax. The hotel's page doesn't say whether it's already in the rate you see, so read the total on the booking screen before you pay.
How much is parking at The Langham Huntington?
$50 overnight, and valet is the only option. Self-parking and street parking aren't allowed. Daytime valet is $28. Validation drops it to $18 for restaurant and Chuan Spa guests, and for pool day passes. The hotel doesn't say whether tax is included or whether in-and-out is free.
Can you walk from The Langham Huntington to Old Pasadena or the Rose Bowl?
The hotel publishes no walking times. It does lend a Lucid electric house car for trips within 3 miles, 9am to 9pm, on request and first come first served, and says to allow 30 minutes for a pickup back. The car is one of the things the $70 amenity fee covers.
Is The Langham Huntington dog friendly?
Yes. The Dog Program is $150 on top of the room rate, and it covers a one-time deep clean of the room at checkout. Add it when you book or through reservations. No size or weight limit is published.
What time is check-in at The Langham Huntington?
The hotel doesn't publish it. Its rooms page shows check-in and check-out labels with no times next to them, so ask reservations before you plan an early arrival.
Is The Langham Huntington worth it for a last-minute stay?
If you'll spend the stay at the pools and the spa, yes. If you need to get around Los Angeles, probably not: the $70 nightly fee and $50 valet add $120 a night before tax, at a hotel 26 miles from LAX. Check the Langham Getaway package first, since it includes parking.
