Bring the dog, however big it is. The Everly takes pets of any size and any number, and charges no fee or deposit for them. You can't leave them alone in the room, and they stay out of the dining areas. If your dog is big, that alone may decide it. The hotel is on Argyle Avenue, one block north of Hollywood Boulevard. Up on the fifth floor, The Scene pool runs 8 am to 8 pm, with food and drinks only from 11 to 6. Guests swim free. Anyone else can buy in through ResortPass, and loungers can't be saved, so a hot weekend afternoon may mean sharing the deck with day visitors and hunting for a chair. Cabanas can be booked if one is free. Drivers pay more than the website lets on. It publishes no parking rate and names no fee, but IHG's own screens show a $45 Guest Amenity Fee and a $15.67 Hotel Worker Protection Surcharge each night, both taxed at 16.195%, about $70.50 together. Overnight valet is $75 plus tax on top of that, so a night with the car runs roughly $145 above the room rate before the parking tax. EV charging is free and unlimited. Fly into Burbank if you can. It's about 8.9 miles by road, against 21.5 from LAX.
