Our take
By Matt Spaulding, Founder and writer
Marriott's page for the Westin lists one way to park, valet at $54 a day, and no self-parking. Rooms on Marriott's booking screen for November 17 carried no destination fee line, so valet is the only add-on a driver pays. $162 covers three nights of valet, and Marriott's page doesn't say whether tax is added. The valet is slow at busy times, by reviewers' account, and the front desk is more businesslike than warm. The Marriott at 6580 Fannin Street adds a $25 fee to $24 self-parking or $54 valet. A driver using valet at both pays $25 less a night here, and a driver who self-parks at the Marriott pays $5 less there. Check-in is 3 pm, an hour earlier than the Marriott, and check-out is noon. Pets cost the same $50. Arriving by train skips the $54 valet altogether, since the Dryden/TMC METRORail station is a two-minute walk.
