Our take

By Matt Spaulding, Founder and writer

The $25 amenity fee at the InterContinental comes with $30 of credits attached: $15 a day for food and drink and $15 a day for laundry. Use both credits and they cover the fee, which is $29.25 a night with its 17 percent tax. Otherwise it buys a shuttle, which the booking screen sets at 3 miles for medical patient guests and 2 miles for everyone else. IHG's hotel page puts self-parking at $46 and valet at $56, in and out allowed, the highest parking prices published in this area. Fee and self-parking together are $75.25 a night, and with valet it's $85.25; the page doesn't say whether the parking is taxed. Reviews push back most on value and on uneven service. The Dryden/TMC METRORail station is a 6-minute walk, 457 meters. Pets cost $150 per stay, three times the Marriott's fee. The screen also lists a $100 security deposit per night, which is $300 on a three-night stay.
