Twenty-three minutes on foot from the Galleria, The Post Oak Hotel keeps everything you'd come for on its own property. There's a pool with private cabanas and fire pits, a spa and salon, a concierge lounge with a private library and a complimentary cocktail at sunset, and a private helipad. A night on its booking screen came to the room rate plus 17 percent hotel tax, with no fee line. The hotel has a self-parking facility but publishes no price for it, so ask before you drive in. Reviews single out individual staff members and the spa. No recurring complaint turned up, but those reviews skew positive, so that proves little. At least one guest in the room must be 21, and no more than four adults can share a room. Dogs up to 75 pounds are allowed in designated rooms, two per room, with a $150 plus tax cleaning fee and a signed waiver.
