Our take
By Matt Spaulding, Founder and writer
You can't park your own car at the Hyatt Regency. Hyatt's parking page says the hotel offers valet parking options only: $49 overnight with in and out privileges, or $23 for a day guest without them. The Hyatt Place Houston/Galleria is a separate property; this is the Regency at 2626 Sage Road. No fee paragraph appeared on Hyatt's booking screens, so a night with a car costs the $49 valet and nothing more, before any tax. That sits between the JW's $69 valet and the Marriott Uptown's $44. On a mid-November night the screen offered just one suite. The mall is 4 minutes away on foot, so once you're parked you may not need the car again. After big events, reviews describe cars queuing to be parked or retrieved. One blogger found the text-a-link car request faster than phoning the desk, and another reviewer found the valet staff unfriendly and had housekeeping complaints.
