Aloft Houston Downtown, at 820 Fannin Street, can't accommodate oversized vehicles, and Marriott's page lists no self-parking, so a large truck or van has to be parked somewhere else. Any other car is valeted at $58 a day, with no word on tax. No destination fee line came up on Marriott's November 17 screen, which leaves the valet as the whole extra: $174 over three nights. Hotel ICON charges the same $58, the Magnolia $4 less. The Hyatt Regency's $65 plus tax overnight works out at least $21 dearer over those three nights. Jones Plaza is eight minutes on foot, 630 meters. Reviews call the rooms tiny and the amenities few, and some guests could hear the street. Marriott's page lists no hotel shuttle from Hobby or Bush. Two pets can stay for $75, and service animals come free. Check-in starts at 3 PM and check-out is at noon. The minimum age to check in is 21.
