Our take
By Matt Spaulding, Founder and writer
The New Orleans Marriott is partway through a 2026 room renovation, and in August at least one guest was put in a room next to active construction. Which room you get matters more here than at most hotels. Guests who land in an updated room describe it as modern and clean. Service swings the same way: some arrivals get an attentive welcome and an upgrade, while others describe a flatter stay. Bourbon Street is an easy walk from the front door. The M Club lounge's breakfast and evening spread draws repeat praise. Noise comes up too, blamed on the hotel's size and the downtown event crowds rather than any single source. For a conventiongoer who wants to walk into the Quarter after the last session, that's a fair deal. For a quiet weekend, it's the wrong building. Ask at check-in whether your room has been renovated and what sits next to it. Parking is valet only, at $55 plus tax a night for a regular car and $62 plus tax for an oversized one; the overview page gives the daily total as $62.28. The hotel's pages list no resort or destination fee, yet Marriott's booking screen includes a $30 destination fee in every nightly rate. Guests say valet plus that fee feels like too much for what they got.
