The RIVVY opened as a Tribute Portfolio hotel on October 1, 2026, in the building that was Hotel 55 Chicago Downtown. Every review we found was written about the old hotel, which drew complaints about service and slow elevators, so none of it tells you how the new management runs the place. It has 297 rooms and suites, with Lure Fishbar on the first floor. Marriott's booking screen showed a $25 destination fee inside the rate it listed, and Chicago's room tax is charged on the whole figure, fee included. The hotel's own site tells direct bookers to "Book the Fee Free Offer to clear the extra charges," so price that offer against Marriott's rate before you book. The one way to park that the hotel lists is on-site valet at $80 a day, and a car adds that $80 a night to a rate that already carries the fee. Wi-Fi is free for Marriott Bonvoy members. Pets are welcome for a $75 non-refundable fee, and the hotel asks you to call the front desk before you arrive. The walk to the Merchandise Mart is 17 minutes, the longest of the twelve hotels we cover here.
