Our take
By Matt Spaulding, Founder and writer
Nobu's Tranquility Pool has daybeds, and the hotel has steam rooms too. You pay for both through a $25-a-night destination fee, plus tax, whether you swim or not. On the booking screen the fee showed as $29.73 a night, because Chicago's 18.9% room tax lands on the fee too. It also covers a $10 mini-bar credit, two bottles of water a day, seasonal bikes and Wi-Fi, so some of it comes back. Some guests find the gym small and the spa due for an update. A guest in March 2025 described loud nights from a bar across the street, and the rooftop restaurant gets loud when the DJ is on. Guests must be 21 to check in, and a pet up to 25 pounds costs $150, one time and non-refundable. Valet is the only parking price the hotel publishes, $85 a night with in-and-out. With the fee that is $114.73 a night above the room rate, or $229.46 for two nights, before any tax on the valet.
