Aloft Chicago Downtown River North has a pool table in the W XYZ Bar and a package for dogs. There's no destination fee on the booking screen, only room tax. Self-parking is $60 a night in the Greenway garage on Kinzie Street, a separate garage from the hotel, and valet is $74 a day. Two nights comes to $120 self-parked or $148 with valet. Dogs only: one per room, up to 40 pounds, and a heavier dog needs the hotel's waiver. The ARF package brings a bed, bowl, treats and toys, and the hotel's pages don't list a pet fee. Basic Wi-Fi is free, and the high-speed tier is free for Marriott Bonvoy members. There's no airport shuttle. Rooms run a little small and outlets are scarce, and some of the fixtures are dated. Some rooms face busy Clark Street, and reviews flag street noise on the lower floors. Ask for a high floor away from the road.
