Our take
By Matt Spaulding, Founder and writer
There is no elevator at The Cordova Inn, a 1921 downtown building, so your luggage goes up the stairs. The bathrooms are tight enough that some guests had trouble getting past the sink to reach the shower. Guests are fonder of the shared spaces than of the rooms: the downstairs coffee bar and the rooftop get the warmest words, and the front desk gets credit for fixing problems quickly when a room lets someone down. You're also on foot to the waterfront and the Pier, which is most of why you'd stay downtown in the first place. In the rooms, mold in shower corners and on bathroom fixtures is a repeated complaint, sometimes with dust or a musty smell, and the window or wall AC units are loud and don't always keep up with the heat. Guests who asked for a refund after checking out say management was hard to reach. Restoration work seems to have run into 2026, too; a guest in February found large construction that nobody mentioned at booking, so ask when you reserve. A $40 a day resort fee is charged at check-in, and the hotel doesn't say what it covers. The hotel publishes no parking information at all, which matters on a downtown block, so call 727-822-7500 before you drive in.

Open in Maps →The inn is on 2nd Avenue North in the middle of downtown St. Petersburg, on the same street as the St. Pete Pier. The Sundial shopping and dining block is half a block away by the hotel's own count, and Beach Drive's galleries and waterfront parks are an easy walk from the door. This is downtown, not the Gulf beaches, which are a drive west.

Check tonight's price →The Cordova Inn FAQ
Does The Cordova Inn charge a resort fee?
Yes, $40 per day, charged at check-in. The hotel's site doesn't say what the fee covers or whether tax is added on top, so ask at booking if that matters to you.
Is there parking at The Cordova Inn?
The hotel doesn't say. Its website has nothing on valet or self-parking, and it sits on a downtown street, so call 727-822-7500 before you arrive with a car.
Does The Cordova Inn have an elevator?
No. Guests consistently report that there's no lift and they carried their bags up the stairs, so this is a poor fit if stairs are hard for you.
What time is check-in at The Cordova Inn?
The hotel doesn't publish check-in or check-out times on its website. Call the front desk at 727-822-7500 to confirm, especially if you're arriving late.
Can you walk to the St. Pete Pier from The Cordova Inn?
Yes. The hotel is on the same street as the Pier, and the Sundial dining block is half a block away. Beach Drive and the waterfront parks are walkable as well.
Is The Cordova Inn worth booking last minute?
It depends on how much time you'll spend in the room. Guests like the coffee bar and the rooftop, and the Pier is within walking distance. Small bathrooms and mold in showers are recurring complaints, along with noisy AC units, and the $40 daily fee doesn't change the room.
