Our take
By Matt Spaulding, Founder and writer
The garage here tops out at 7 feet, and lifted vehicles or anything bigger than an F-250 get turned away. Valet is the only parking on offer, at $42 a night and $52 for an oversized vehicle. Guests bring that cost up more than anything else, and several name a public lot across the street that costs a good deal less if you are willing to walk over. The valet crew is also one of the most praised parts of a stay here, which complicates the trade. Front desk and valet both get credit for quick repairs, including a broken AC and a fridge fixed the same day, one of them with breakfast comped. No resort or destination fee appears anywhere on the hotel's own pages, so $42 is the whole nightly add-on for a driver. The rooftop pool, and the food served up there, is the other thing guests talk about. Dog owners do well, with a pet water fountain in the lobby and dogs allowed up on the rooftop, though the policy runs $50 a night, non-refundable, for up to two pets under 75 pounds. On weekend nights some rooms pick up music running until around midnight, with the one detailed account placing it on the eighth floor, while guests who asked for the pool-facing side slept fine. With no self-parking on site, a vehicle that does not fit has no fallback at the hotel.

Open in Maps →You are at 110 2nd Street North, in the downtown grid rather than on the water. Beach Drive's restaurant row, the Museum of Fine Arts and the waterfront park sit east of the address, with the walk out to the St. Pete Pier starting just past them, and Central Avenue's bars and shops run south of the hotel. Guests here mostly hand the car over on arrival and walk to dinner and to downtown events.

Will my truck or van fit in the AC's garage?
Not if it is over 7 feet tall. The garage caps out at 7 feet and turns away modified or lifted vehicles, full-size SUVs and trucks above an F-250 or 2500. Vehicles that do fit but count as oversized pay $52 rather than the standard rate, and there is no self-parking on site as a fallback.
What does parking cost, and is there a resort fee on top of it?
$42 a night for valet, and no fee on top: the hotel publishes no resort, destination or amenity charge on its overview page, its Hotel Information panel or its FAQ. Valet is the only option here, so $42 is the whole nightly add-on for a driver. Guests regularly mention a public lot across the street that costs less if you are willing to walk.
Are dogs allowed on the rooftop?
Yes, dogs are allowed up on the rooftop, and guests travelling with them also mention a pet water fountain in the lobby. The policy is up to two pets per room at 75 lbs or less each, for a non-refundable $50 per night.
Which side of the building is quiet on a weekend night?
The pool-facing side. Guests who asked for it slept fine, while others describe music running until around midnight, with the one detailed account placing it on the eighth floor. Weekend nights are when it comes up.
Can I leave the car parked for the whole stay?
Yes, and most guests do, because at $42 a night in and out is what makes valet expensive. Restaurants, the museums and the St. Pete Pier walk are all reachable on foot from the address, and guests here tend to hand the car over on arrival and leave it.
Can I drop the car off before check-in?
Yes. Check-in is 4:00 PM and check-out is 11:00 AM, but valet runs independently of your room being ready, so you can hand the car over and walk to lunch while you wait.
