Our take

By Matt Spaulding, Founder and writer

The Hilton Bayfront is a 1972 tower whose last renovation on record was in 2014, and reviews into mid-2026 still describe rusty bathroom fixtures and decor that shows its age. Expect a room older than the Hilton name suggests. Guests who liked their stay mostly liked the address on the downtown St. Pete waterfront, with the Dali Museum about eight minutes on foot and the bayfront parks close enough to leave the car parked. If you drive, parking is valet only at $48 a night, and there's no self-parking on site. The hotel's own rate breakdown shows no resort or destination fee, so valet is the one nightly charge to plan for. The valet crew gets friendly words even from guests who disliked the building. Read your folio before you leave: more than one guest was billed for valet or for a breakfast that was already included, and the refunds came slowly. Some bathrooms have no exhaust fan, and mustiness comes up across reviews. Cold morning showers recur too, and at least one outage in late 2025 cut hot water to the whole building. For anyone who needs a hot shower before an early start, that pattern matters more than the short walk to the Dali.

Is the Hilton St. Petersburg Bayfront worth it?
