Island's End takes the last lot on Pass-a-Grille Way, the Gulf on one side and the Intracoastal on the other, close enough to both that you can watch the sun come up and go down from the same patch of grass. The main grounds hold five one-bedroom cottages plus Villa A, a three-bedroom house, all mid-century vintage, with two more units at a sister property for eight in total. Every unit has a full kitchen, there is a private strip of sand, a fishing dock and grills, and the public beach is a thirty-second walk. The thing that catches people out is the pool, which belongs to Villa A alone. Book one of the one-bedroom cottages and you get the beach, the dock and the grills, with the Gulf as your only place to swim. The cottages show their age in the fixtures, and one guest account mentions a damp smell. A light continental breakfast is reported three mornings a week, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, though the resort's own site does not advertise it, so confirm when you book. Rates are built around two people, with each extra guest $20 a day and dogs $20 a night, nonrefundable. Cancellation is tight: more than two weeks out you get half the deposit back, and inside two weeks nothing. Best for a couple who want the quiet end of the island and plan to cook.

Does Island's End Resort have a pool?

Only one unit does. The pool belongs to Villa A, the three-bedroom house. Guests in the five one-bedroom cottages get the private beach, the fishing dock and the grills, with the Gulf for swimming.

Is parking free at Island's End?

Yes, parking is free on site. That is worth something in Pass-a-Grille, where public beach parking is limited.

Is breakfast included?

A light continental breakfast is reported three mornings a week, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. It is not listed on the resort's own site, so confirm it when you book. Every unit has a full kitchen either way.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes, with prior office approval. Dogs are $20 per night per dog and the fee is nonrefundable. Certain breeds are excluded, including pit bulls, akitas and rottweilers.

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancel more than two weeks before arrival and 50% of your deposit is refunded. Inside two weeks there is no refund at all, so this is a weak fit for a trip that might move. Holidays also carry a four-night minimum.

Is Island's End Resort currently open?

Confirm directly before booking. The resort's own site is taking reservations, but a Pass-a-Grille lodging directory still lists the property as temporarily closed after the 2024 storms, and small properties on this stretch have reopened on staggered timelines.
