The Berkeley works like a serviced apartment building that happens to sit on Pass-a-Grille's main street, one block off the sand. It is suites and studios, each with a full kitchen and a washer and dryer, and the building has an elevator. Continental breakfast comes to your door around 8:30 to 9 AM, beach towels, chairs and umbrellas are provided, and the rooftop lounge is reserved for guests. Downstairs is in transition. The Dewey took flood damage in the 2024 hurricanes and never reopened, the property sold in July 2025, and the new owners have leased the ground floor to Moon by Malio's, a seafood restaurant targeting a September 2026 opening. The bigger obstacle for a last-minute trip is the booking terms. Suites carry a two-night minimum that rises to three nights over holidays and four at Thanksgiving, and your deposit stops being refundable 21 days out, with a 15% processing charge if you cancel before then. There is no front desk, so check-in is keyless from 3 PM, check-out is 11 AM, and whoever books has to be 25 or older. One street parking pass comes per unit, so a second car has to fend for itself. There is no pool. Dogs are $100 for one and $150 for two in a suite, plus tax, with a 50 pound limit for one dog and 75 pounds combined for two. Cats are not accepted.
