The June 2025 rebrand did more than renovate the rooms. It moved this place into a different price class. Guests agree on what the roughly $60M bought: renovated suites that read as spacious and genuinely well designed, a calmer stretch of Mid-Beach than the South Beach strip, and attentive pool and dining staff working under a Jose Andres food and beverage program. Now the catch. Reviewers keep flagging the same mismatch: the hotel markets itself as oceanfront, but plenty of standard suites look out over Biscayne Bay and the Intracoastal instead. Ask for an ocean-facing room in writing if that is why you are booking, because that gap drives more disappointment here than anything else. Collins Avenue traffic also carries into rooms at night despite the quiet interior finishes. The fee math the nightly figure hides: guests and reviewers report the resort fee climbing from $55/night at the June 2025 opening to $65/night inside the first year, and some touches that were complimentary at launch (suite snacks among them) are now paid add-ons. We could not confirm that number on Hyatt's own page, so treat it as reported and check the fee line at booking. Hyatt also moved the property from Category 4 to Category 6, so an award night runs roughly 21,000-29,000 points. Worth it if you want a design-led, food-led Mid-Beach base and the flagship price does not faze you. Bargain hunters and points optimizers should look elsewhere.
