The Polynesian's whole pitch is that you don't need the park. This 1971 South Seas resort builds a tropical vacation right on Seven Seas Lagoon, and a full day here feels like a trip of its own. The Lava Pool is the anchor: a zero-entry main pool wrapped around a towering volcano, with a 142-foot slide and a waterfall grotto. Three white-sand beaches line the lagoon with an open sightline to Magic Kingdom's nightly fireworks and the Electrical Water Pageant, so you get the show from a beach chair. Trader Sam's Grog Grotto turns a drink order into a small event, with volcano eruptions, thunderstorms, and sirens firing on cue. The monorail runs straight through the Great Ceremonial House lobby, two stops from Magic Kingdom, with lagoon boats as backup, and standard rooms carry a Moana-inspired refresh. Weigh the cost honestly. This is Disney Deluxe, among the priciest on property, and Disney's terms note that additional-adult charges may apply past two adults. There's no resort fee, overnight self-parking is complimentary, and the Lava Pool gets loud and packed during afternoon pool parties in peak summer.
