Our take

By Matt Spaulding, Founder and writer

Memorial Park station on the Metro A Line is a short walk from the Courtyard, and that matters here because parking costs $40 a day. It's self-park, with no destination fee added on Marriott's booking screen as of October 19, 2026, so a week with a car runs $280 on top of the room. Take the train out from downtown Los Angeles and that money stays in your pocket. The same goes for a Rose Bowl game: Marriott says the Foothill Transit shuttle pickup is two blocks from the hotel, though it doesn't say whether the shuttle runs on January 1. Guests like the location. Some call the rooms small, and one says the room went half a month without being vacuumed, so confirm the cleaning schedule at the desk. The hotel has an outdoor pool and a whirlpool. Pets cost $150 per stay for up to two, a flat fee that hurts on a one-night trip and works out to $30 a night over five.
