Our take
By Matt Spaulding, Founder and writer
Drive to the Sheraton Grand and you'll pay $107 a night on top of the room. Valet is off-site, at $77 a day, and every nightly rate on Marriott's screen has a $30 destination fee built in. Leave the car at home if you can. Marriott's own page lists eight places to eat within 0.1 miles, among them a Starbucks at The Bloc and SUGARFISH. The hotel doesn't do room service. What it has instead is Hope Street Market, a grab-and-go shop on the lobby level that's open 24 hours and sells drinks as well as food. District, the restaurant, lists breakfast hours only. Hope Street Bar off the lobby pours cocktails from 5 to 10 pm. So for dinner you'll be walking out the door, which on this block is easy. You don't have to be out until noon. A bigger dog has to stay home: the limit is one pet up to 25 lb, at $75 for the whole stay.
