Our take
By Matt Spaulding, Founder and writer
Hotel Figueroa opened in 1926 as a YWCA hotel for women travelers, and the old building is still the best reason to book it. The Moroccan styling arrived in 1976. In 2018 it reopened after a roughly $60 million overhaul, with 268 rooms and a coffin-shaped pool sunk at ground level among the plants. L.A. LIVE is across the street. Crypto.com Arena and the Convention Center are a short walk past it, which makes this an easy pick for a game or a convention if you aren't driving. Guests like the staff. The complaints are about upkeep. A few guests felt uneasy about the street late at night. Read recent reviews before you pay. Every reservation carries a $35 Hotel Amenity Fee plus tax per night, and overnight valet is $62 plus tax a day. That's $97 a night on top of the room before tax, or $194 for a two-night weekend. Arrive by rideshare and the extra is just the $35.

Check tonight's price →Hotel Figueroa FAQ
Does Hotel Figueroa charge a resort fee?
Yes. Every reservation carries a Hotel Amenity Fee of $35 plus tax per night. The hotel's FAQ doesn't say whether it's already in the first rate you see, so check the total on the booking screen before you pay.
How much is parking at Hotel Figueroa?
Overnight valet is $62 plus tax per day. The hotel publishes no overnight self-park rate for guests and doesn't say whether valet includes in-and-out. The self-park rate on its FAQ ($15 for two hours, $5 per 30 minutes after that, $40 max plus tax) is for patrons, not overnight guests.
Can I walk from Hotel Figueroa to Crypto.com Arena and the Convention Center?
Yes. The hotel is across the street from L.A. LIVE, and the Convention Center and Crypto.com Arena are a short walk further.
What time is check-in at Hotel Figueroa?
4 pm. Check-out is at noon.
Is Hotel Figueroa dog friendly?
Yes, for dogs under 50 pounds. There's a $50 non-refundable fee per stay.
Is Hotel Figueroa worth it for a last-minute stay?
If you're downtown for an event and not driving, yes. You can walk to L.A. LIVE, and you get a 1926 building with a real pool. With a car it's harder to justify, since the fee and valet add $97 a night before tax. Guests have complained about upkeep, so read recent reviews first.
