Our take
By Matt Spaulding, Founder and writer
Half of the JW Marriott's $50 nightly destination fee comes back to you as a $25 credit at the hotel's own restaurants and bar. The other half pays for things you'd only use on an event trip: a game at Lucky Strike with shoe rental, popcorn at the Regal, rooftop yoga, upgraded in-room internet. The bowling alley and the cinema are nearby on Olympic Boulevard, and you can walk to Crypto.com Arena, so a weekend built around a game or a concert gets the most out of the place. Eat downstairs on the credit each night and the fee nets out to $25 a night, plus tax on the full $50. Book two nights for work, skip the bar, and you've paid $100 plus tax for perks you never touched. Savoca serves all three meals every day and room service runs to 1 am (2 am on Friday and Saturday), which helps after a late show. Leña at Sendero, the steakhouse, is dinner only and closed Sunday and Monday. The pool sits on a fourth-floor roof deck looking over L.A. LIVE, with a whirlpool and cabanas you can reserve. The hotel's rooms and dining pages list no parking rate, so if a car is coming, call 213-765-8600 before you book.

Does the JW Marriott L.A. LIVE charge a resort fee?
Yes, a $50 destination fee per night plus tax, which the hotel says can change. It includes a $25 daily credit at the hotel's restaurant and bar, rooftop yoga, upgraded in-room internet, bowling with shoe rental at Lucky Strike, and popcorn at Regal Cinemas. The hotel's pages don't say whether the fee is already in the first price you see, so check the total on the booking screen.
How much is parking at the JW Marriott L.A. LIVE?
Marriott's rooms and dining pages for this property list no parking rate, so call +1 213-765-8600 before you drive in.
How close is the JW Marriott to Crypto.com Arena?
Close enough to walk. The hotel is part of L.A. LIVE, the district the arena anchors, so you can walk to a game or a show and back.
What time is check-in at the JW Marriott L.A. LIVE?
The hotel's rooms page doesn't give a time. It does sell guaranteed early check-in on select dates, so if you're landing in the morning, look for that option when you book.
Does the JW Marriott L.A. LIVE have a pool?
Yes, an outdoor pool on a fourth-floor roof deck with a whirlpool. Private cabanas can be reserved, each with its own TV and a mini-fridge of water and soft drinks, and the Ion Rooftop Patio bar by the pool opens seasonally.
Is the JW Marriott L.A. LIVE worth it for a last-minute stay?
For an arena night, yes, if you'll spend the $25 daily credit at the hotel: you walk back after the event and the fee nets out to $25 a night, plus tax on the full $50. If you're driving, get the parking rate from the hotel first, because its rooms and dining pages don't list one.
