Our take
By Matt Spaulding, Founder and writer
Angels Flight's tracks start at California Plaza, the Bunker Hill block the Omni shares with MOCA and the Colburn School, and run down to Hill Street. The ride is $1.50 one way, or 75 cents with a TAP card. That short trip is what makes the location work for anyone who'd rather not drive downtown. Every rate on Omni's booking screen carried a $35 nightly Destination Charge, and valet is the only parking, at $80 a night with in-and-out. Together they add $115 a night to a stay with a car. The charge pays for Wi-Fi, two bottled waters a day, morning lobby coffee and 10% off at Noé Restaurant and Bar, among a few other things. If you're only stopping in, daytime valet is $30 for the first hour and $15 for each hour after, capped at $80 once you pass five hours. A dog up to 25 lb pays $125 once for the whole reservation. Anyone in a camper van or a big truck should plan on a garage somewhere else, because the hotel won't take oversized vehicles on site.
