Our take
By Matt Spaulding, Founder and writer
The Hollywood Roosevelt is a night out with rooms attached. Its FAQ lists six bars and restaurants, The Spare Room and Gable among them, and prints parking rates for people who come only for dinner or an event. You share the building with them. The Tropicana Pool is heated all year and free to registered guests from 8 am to 8 pm, but an event or private function can close it to you, and weekends bring DJ sets. A quiet afternoon on a lounger is not a safe bet. What works is a weekend spent in the building: dinner at Gable, then a last drink at The Library Bar, with nobody driving home. If you'll be out somewhere else every night, you're paying for a lot of hotel you won't use. The FAQ never says whether the $37 nightly Destination Fee sits inside the first rate you're shown, so check the total before you pay. It does say the fee includes tax, and so does the $79 overnight valet, the only overnight parking it lists. Bring a car and that's exactly $116 a night on top of the room, or $348 over a three-night weekend.

Check tonight's price →The Hollywood Roosevelt FAQ
Does the Hollywood Roosevelt charge a resort fee?
Yes, a $37 Destination Fee every night, with tax already in it. It pays for upgraded Wi-Fi, two bottles of water a day, morning coffee, free local and domestic calls and discounts at some local attractions. The hotel's FAQ doesn't say whether it's included in the rate you're first shown, so check the total before you book.
How much is parking at the Hollywood Roosevelt?
$79 a night for overnight valet, tax included, and you can charge an EV through the valet. The hotel lists no self-parking and doesn't say whether in-and-out is allowed. Add the $37 nightly fee and a car costs $116 a night on top of the room.
Is the Tropicana Pool free for hotel guests?
Yes, for registered guests from 8 am to 8 pm every day, and it's heated all year. Events and private functions can close it to guests. Loungers are free and first come, first served, and there are DJ sets on weekends.
Can I bring my dog to the Hollywood Roosevelt?
Yes, up to two dogs of 60 pounds or less. Cats aren't allowed, and dogs can't go into the Tropicana Pool area. There's a $50 pet fee per stay.
What time is check-in at the Hollywood Roosevelt?
3 pm, and check-out is at noon.
Is the Hollywood Roosevelt worth it for a last-minute stay?
If your evening is going to be in the building, yes. Six bars and restaurants share the building, and the pool is free to guests. If you'll eat and drink elsewhere every night and you're driving, it's a harder sell, because the fee and valet add $116 a night before the room.
