Our take

By Matt Spaulding, Founder and writer

Breakfast is free at Hyatt House, 725 Wharf St SW, and the Riverview studio and one-bedroom suites look out on the Potomac. Hyatt's booking screen for November 17 showed no fee line with the rates, so the add-on is the 15.95% District tax on the room. Valet is the only parking listed, from $40 a night with tax not stated. That's the lowest starting parking price at a Wharf hotel, but "from" is a floor, so check the amount when you book. Street and party noise comes up, and so do rooms that weren't ready at check-in. The H Market is open 24 hours, and there's an H Bar and a fitness center. There's a guest laundry too, and internet is free. Hyatt's policies page allows one dog up to 75 pounds for $75 a stay of one to six nights. The primary guest has to be 21 to check in.
