Our take
By Matt Spaulding, Founder and writer
Hampton Inn & Suites sits one block from the Green Line, with a rooftop restaurant and bar, and Nationals Park is 9 minutes away on foot. Hilton's booking screen for November 18 showed rooms with no mandatory-charge line, so beyond the room you pay DC's 15.95% tax and, if you drive, a valet that only runs from 6 AM to midnight. There is no self-parking and no EV charging. Hilton lists valet at $70 without saying whether that is per day or per night. It is covered and secured with in-and-out privileges. Special event rates apply, so ask what valet costs on a game night before you book one. The address is 1265 First St SE, on the same street as the Residence Inn. A pet costs a non-refundable $75, up to 2 dogs or cats at 75 pounds each. Hilton lists the shuttle to Washington National, Dulles and BWI as not available.
