Our take
By Matt Spaulding, Founder and writer
The Fairmont at 2401 M St NW is a full-service hotel on the Georgetown end of M Street, and its fee is folded into the total: the Accor screen for November 17 showed one price labelled taxes and fees included, with an Urban Experience Fee of $37.28 inside it. Valet has unlimited in and out and costs $35 for 3 to 10 hours and $70 for 10 hours or overnight, before tax. The self-parking garages nearby are not open 24 hours, so overnight the valet is the practical choice. With the fee, that is $107.28 a night before tax on the parking. The hotel has the Juniper restaurant and a Gold lounge level, and it is 8 minutes on foot from Foggy Bottom-GWU Metro. No pet fee is listed, but the hotel's own pages disagree on size: all sizes on one, dogs up to 80 lbs on another. Complaints about the building did not come up in what we read. The guest-services page also lists an internet fee for non-members: $14.95 plus tax a day.
