Our take

By Matt Spaulding, Founder and writer

The Courtyard is in a building from 1921, and the layout shows its age. Reviews turned up no complaint pattern for this address. What they praise is rooms that are clean and spacious, and being able to walk to Daikin Park and the convention center, though at 13 minutes the convention center is farther from here than from any of the other nine downtown hotels. Valet is $55 plus tax a night, and Marriott's screen showed no destination fee to add to it. A vehicle 19 feet or longer pays $65 plus tax, and nothing over 6 feet 8 inches fits. Day use is $30 plus tax. A pet costs $100, per Marriott's page. The Bistro serves American food, and the front desk is staffed around the clock. The hotel runs no shuttle, and Marriott's page points you to Texans Super Shuttle at $23 one way to IAH, or a $1.25 METRO bus.
