Our take
By Matt Spaulding, Founder and writer
The Renaissance Atlanta Waverly Hotel & Convention Center sits next to the Cobb Convention Center Atlanta, which was the Cobb Galleria Centre until the rename. It reopened in January 2026, and a $190 million expansion continues into early 2027. The walk to Battery Avenue outside Truist Park is 14 minutes, 1,079 meters, and reviews call it uphill and unfriendly to strollers. Marriott's screen for November 17 showed no destination fee line. Cobb County taxes the room at 14%, and Georgia's $5 and Cobb's $3 flat charges land on every night as well. Pets are allowed at $50 a night, up to two at 40 pounds each. Marriott's info page lists self-parking at $35 a day and valet at $45. Three nights comes to $105 self-parked or $135 with valet. One other Marriott page, seen through search, lists non-overnight parking at $25 for up to 5 hours and $35 for 5 to 8. Parking comes up again and again in reviews, and older ones describe a deck that is hard to get into during big events. One describes chaotic check-in during a convention.
