Our take

By Matt Spaulding, Founder and writer

Helios Grand is the only hotel built inside Epic Universe, and that single fact reshapes the trip. A guests-only security gate drops you straight into Celestial Park, so you clear entry on foot and put Early Park Admission to work before the buses even arrive. Early entry is tied to staying here, so it holds whether you book direct or through Klook. The rooftop is the other draw: Bar Helios sits beneath a domed ceiling painted with golden constellations, with panoramic sunset views over the park. Down at the pool, Lotus Lagoon runs zero-entry with underwater speakers, tiered lounge seating, a hot tub, and cabana rentals. Flora Taverna handles all-day Mediterranean dining with 24-hour room service, and Aurora Market covers grab-and-go. A celestial theme threads through the whole property. The catch is the bill. This is Orlando's top price tier, and park-view rooms sit squarely in splurge territory, well above nearby Universal hotels that lack the views and the private gate. Standard rooms are compact, about 325 square feet, and the non-park side looks onto back-of-house areas. The dedicated entrance still backs up at morning rope-drop, and Epic Universe's fountain-show music can carry late into the night for light sleepers. It suits first-time Epic Universe trips, park-view splurgers, and anyone who wants a no-park resort day at the rooftop bar and lagoon.

You're inside Epic Universe itself, off S. Kirkman Road near Universal Blvd. It's the only resort within the park's gates, so Celestial Park is a walk through your private entrance rather than a bus or boat ride. The rest of Universal Orlando and the I-Drive corridor sit minutes away by car.

Universal Helios Grand Hotel, a Loews Hotel FAQ

Is Universal Helios Grand really inside Epic Universe?

Yes. It's the only hotel built within the park, with a private guests-only security gate that opens straight into Celestial Park. You walk in instead of taking a bus, which is the whole reason to book here.

Does Helios Grand get Early Park Admission?

Yes, and it's tied to staying here, so it holds whether you book direct or through Klook. Because your entrance is on foot, you can be inside Celestial Park early without the morning transport scramble.

Are the park-view rooms worth it at Helios Grand?

It depends on how you'll use the trip. Park-view rooms sit in Orlando's top price tier, well above nearby Universal hotels that lack the views and the private gate. If you want first-time Epic Universe convenience or a rooftop-and-lagoon resort day, they earn it; if you're mostly out in the parks, a cheaper Universal hotel does the job.
