Our take
By Matt Spaulding, Founder and writer
Crayola Experience is a heat-and-rain escape machine: 70,000 air-conditioned square feet inside The Florida Mall, with 27 hands-on, crayon-themed stations for kids to work through. The signature stop is the live Crayon Factory show, where you watch a crayon get made and get to name it. General admission covers everything, including two Modeling Madness tokens and a Scribble Scrubbie voucher, and your ticket stays valid until closing on your date, so a kid who loves one station can loop back to it all afternoon. Plan on two to four hours. The catch is the crowd. This is a busy mall attraction, and late-July dates run peak, so expect heavy foot traffic, roughly 30-minute waits at the popular stations, not much seating, and a loud, over-stimulating room that wears out younger kids fast. Everyone age 3 and up pays full adult-level admission (ages 2 and under are free), which plenty of parents find steep for what it is, and the on-site café is pricey. Get there right at the 10am open to stay ahead of the worst of it. Tickets are date-specific and generally non-refundable, so lock in a day you're sure about. It suits families with kids roughly 3 to 12, arts-and-crafts lovers, and anyone who needs an indoor break from the parks on a hot or stormy afternoon.

How long do you need at Crayola Experience Orlando?
Most families spend two to four hours. Your ticket is valid until closing on your chosen date, so kids can circle back to favorite stations without paying again.
Is Crayola Experience good for a rainy or hot day?
Yes. It's a fully indoor, air-conditioned attraction inside The Florida Mall, which makes it a reliable escape from Orlando's summer heat and afternoon thunderstorms.
Do toddlers and young kids pay admission?
Everyone age 3 and up pays full general admission; ages 2 and under are free. The room gets loud and crowded, so very young kids can get overwhelmed at peak times.
