Pets stay free at the Magnolia. Up to two can share a room at 60 pounds each once you sign a waiver at check-in, and service animals are free too. The hotel, at 1100 Texas Avenue, seven minutes' walk from Jones Plaza, also has a rooftop pool. Valet is $54 a day, and Marriott's November 17 screen showed no destination fee. A dog owner driving in for three nights pays $162 in valet and nothing for the dog. At the JW Marriott the same stay costs $186 in valet and $150 for the pet. There's no self-parking on Marriott's info page. Oversized vehicles pay extra, by an amount the page doesn't give, and it's silent on tax for the valet. The hotel runs no shuttle. A car from IAH through Menara VPL Services is $70 one way, or $60 from Hobby, by reservation. The Dispatch opens at 6 a.m., and breakfast there costs extra. Guests must be 21, and check-out is 11 a.m. Check-in isn't until 4 p.m., an hour later than at the other Marriott hotels in this district.
