Our take
By Matt Spaulding, Founder and writer
Phipps Plaza is just steps from The Whitley, by the hotel's own account, and Lenox Square is 18 minutes on foot, the longest walk of the twelve. The building was The Ritz-Carlton, Buckhead, and it is now a Luxury Collection hotel with 507 rooms, 56 of them suites. It has a spa with a Himalayan salt room and an indoor heated pool. Trade Root is the restaurant, and club-level rooms come with a Club Lounge. Up to two pets per room are allowed, each up to 50 pounds, for a non-refundable $150 per stay. Marriott's page lists valet at $62 a night and calls it off-site, while the hotel's own policies page lists self-parking at $50 a day with no in-and-out privileges, so plan on $50 to $62 a night for the car before tax. Marriott's booking screen for Tuesday, November 17 offered only the Buckhead Suite and the Presidential Suite. For Tuesday, December 1 it listed ordinary rooms with no destination fee line, so a suites-only result on one night says little about the next.
