Our take

By Matt Spaulding, Founder and writer

Four minutes. That is the walk from Hampton Inn & Suites Atlanta-Midtown to the Woodruff Arts Center, 312 meters by the routed path, and no other Midtown hotel we cover is closer. You can walk to a show there and back. Hampton is Hilton's limited-service brand, and its booking screen for November 17, 2026 listed 15 rooms with no mandatory-charge line, so the hotel adds nothing to the rate. Atlanta puts 16.9% in hotel and sales tax on top, which is $16.90 for every $100 of room rate, and Georgia adds its $5 a night state fee. On a two-night arts trip without a car, you pay the rate plus Atlanta's tax and the state's $10. Clean rooms and helpful staff are what come up in reviews. Hilton's hotel-info page says self-parking is not available and valet is $50 a night, so three nights with a car add $150 to the price of picking a Hampton over a pricier Midtown hotel, and the page doesn't say whether tax goes on top.
