Key West treats sunset as a nightly civic event, and the free version is Mallory Square, where the Sunset Celebration puts buskers, craft tables and food carts on the plaza starting about two hours before the sun goes down. A boat costs money and buys you the one thing the dock cannot give you: open horizon with nobody's phone in front of your face. The trip described here is Fury's Commotion on the Ocean, two hours on a 65-foot catamaran with three viewing levels and restrooms aboard, leaving from the Historic Seaport at Greene and Elizabeth next to Conch Republic Seafood Company. Be clear on what unlimited means. Fury lists draft Michelob Ultra and Landshark, chardonnay, pinot grigio, cabernet, champagne and margaritas, plus sodas and water. Nothing on Fury's included list is a spirit, so do not expect a cocktail menu. The food is an appetizer spread (pinwheels, antipasti, hummus with crackers, vegetables, seasonal fruit), so plan dinner for after you dock. The catch is the format. This is a group party boat with a live band, and unlimited drinks set the tone, which suits some evenings and ruins others. Families sail too, since there is a child rate for ages 4 to 10, which catches people who pictured an adults-only booze cruise. Fury provides no parking of its own, so budget for a city garage.

How long is the Key West sunset sail?
Two hours on the water. Fury asks you to check in at least 30 minutes before departure, and departure time moves through the year because it is pegged to sunset. Key West sunsets run from about 5:40 pm in late November to about 8:20 pm at the end of June, so read the time on your confirmation rather than assuming an evening slot.
What does the unlimited bar actually include?
Fury's sunset sail lists draft Michelob Ultra and Landshark, chardonnay, pinot grigio and cabernet, champagne, margaritas, plus sodas and water. It is not a full liquor bar, so there is no build-your-own cocktail list. Gratuity is not included and is customary.
Is the food a real meal or just snacks?
Snacks. Fury describes it as curated appetizers, and the listed spread is pinwheels, an antipasti platter, hummus with crackers, vegetables with ranch and seasonal fruit. Treat it as something to line your stomach against the unlimited drinks, and book dinner for after you dock.
Where do you park for the Historic Seaport?
Fury provides no parking at check-in and points you to street parking, pay lots or garages. The closest municipal option is the city's Old Town Parking Garage at 301 Grinnell Street, on the corner of Caroline and Grinnell, with 300 first-come spaces and open 24 hours. As of August 2026 the city posts it at $6 per hour plus tax and $48 for the day, and the pay station takes credit cards, debit cards and coins only.
Is a sunset cruise worth it when Mallory Square is free?
Mallory Square's Sunset Celebration is genuinely free, runs every night of the year weather permitting, and starts roughly two hours before sunset, though the performers work for tips so bring a few dollars. The boat is worth paying for if you want an unblocked horizon, a seat and drinks in hand instead of a crowded plaza. If the buskers and the street-fair atmosphere are the appeal, stay on land and keep the money.
Is it a catamaran or a schooner?
The unlimited bar, live music and appetizer format sails on Fury's 65-foot catamaran, which has three viewing levels and restrooms aboard. Schooners leave from the same Historic Seaport if you want canvas and quiet instead: Classic Harbor Line's America 2.0 is a 105-foot schooner certified for 85 passengers, docking at 202R William Street. They are separate bookings with different bar and food terms.
